Medical device startup Caresyntax has raised $30 million in funding, nearly doubling the amount of venture capital it has raised.

The newest round of funding was led by PFM Health Sciences, with participation from funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, as well as ProAssurance, Harmonix, Synchrony Financial, TPG Biotech, and Wellington Management. The company has now raised a total of $130 million in equity funding to date.

The funding will be used to continue the expansion of its online marketplace for surgical procedures, with the goal of creating a site that “will offer patients more choices of hospitals and doctors, lower prices, and better outcomes.
