With the pandemic and poor decisiions made by local governments, many people are fleeing California in search of favorable conditions. The tech industry has been the most resiliant sector of the economy, although power is shifting between companies and locations.
According to a Dice.com report, tech jobs in the first quarter of 2021 has been boosted by 28%. And for the first time in history, Austin had more demand for jobs than the massive city of Los Angeles, CA.
“Tech hiring was at near record levels prior to the pandemic, and the data in our Q1 Tech Job Report shows that the demand for skilled technology talent is ramping up considerably,” said the CEO of DICE Art Zeile. “The continuous surge in tech job postings, combined with the low tech unemployment rate, offers a positive growth outlook for technologist hiring and for the landscape as a whole for the remainder of 2021.
